The ritual of consumption and obsession with conforming to fashionable criteria at the cost of cultural or personal reality and perception are dominant threads running through this densely layered work. The words “Full Fat, Low Fat, Fat Free” (echoed by three sizes of milk cartons displayed on a steel canteen trolley) are projected on a white sheet. A woman swathed in a bubble wrap cloak reveals her plus-size body and sashays into projected images of herself. On the video, her face is a mask made out of poured milk.
